Note that the toddler guardrail for toddler use and the metal bed frame for adult use are sold separately. Mattresses are sold separately as well. Dimensions for this crib are designed to fit any standard mattress for infants.
One of the side rails is slightly taller and has a headboard attachment which would later serve as an adult bed headboard. The vertical slats are spaced well enough and they are guaranteed toxic-free by ASTM standards. In compliance to JPMA regulations on product safety, this crib is a fixed rail configuration as opposed to drop-side cribs.
Setting up the crib
Building the crib can take up to 30 minutes or more. An average mom with the most basic skills in hand tools can set this up unassisted. Instructions in the manual can be a little bit tedious with all the details from step one to finish, but it’s really worth the effort.
For starters, you can attach the metal support for the mattress to its highest setting and adjust it to a more appropriate height as your baby grows. Avoid using power tools as this could damage the crib or crib parts.
4 different configurations
Emery 4-in-1 crib can be easily converted into 4 different types of bed with just some minor changes and attachments (except for the adult bed). Refer to the user’s manual on how to properly configure your baby’s crib.
Infant Crib. This is the starting set-up for first-time users. Basically, you put together all the parts that come with the package. However, you will have to buy the mattress for this, which is not difficult because any standard infant mattress size will do. Just make sure they’re stiff and comfortable enough for your baby.
Daytime bed. Sometimes the side rails can get in the way when putting the baby to sleep for his daytime nap. Moms can easily convert this crib into a daytime bed by taking out one of its side rails and probably lowering the metal support. It could take a while but considering the safety issues regarding drop-side cribs, this type of configuration would be a much safer choice.
Toddler bed. As your baby gets older, he would need a bed where he could move in and out freely. A toddler guardrail would be more appropriate for this. It’s not part of the original setup but you can easily buy one online.
Adult bed. This crib grows on your child as he gets older. With the adult bed setup, you’re left with just the head board attached to one of the side rails and a metal bed frame for an adult-size mattress. They can be bought online from the company or any authorized retail outlet.
