As the name suggests, it’s not the usual full-sized crib but slightly smaller than the regular crib. It’s been optimized to fit smaller rooms while maximizing space and comfort for your little one. Convertible cribs such as Dream On Me 3 in 1 are more like fashion nowadays. The reason why they become so popular is that it serves as infant crib, day bed, toddler bed, and adult bed without the extra cost. Aden convertible mini crib can be easily assembled and reconfigured to work as an infant crib, day bed, and adult bed (they have a toddler bed specifically made for toddler use).
One reason why moms prefer this over other cheap brands is that it’s actually made of solid wood – most of it (it does have some MDF composite parts). But at least this one is sturdier and more durable compared to other budget cribs. It’s available in cherry, black, espresso, and natural finish.
It conforms to the JPMA safety standards on having a fixed side rail instead of the drop side models. Setting up the crib in different bed settings requires a very minimal “hands-on” approach. They’ve provided a DIY kit with the crib for that purpose. However, you would need a flat screwdriver to hold the dowels in place since it only has the Allen wrench for the screws. It takes around half an hour or so to set it up.
The metal support for the mattress can be adjusted to different heights. As always, set the platform at its highest before your baby starts crawling on all fours. Its highest setting is somewhat lower compared to some models, so you might want to have a thicker mattress (sold separately) if you find this setting too low.
Please bear in mind that this is a mini crib so you will have to look for mattresses that fit snugly into the crib as most full-sized crib mattresses won’t fit into this one. The crib comes with a thin pad about 1-inch thick, but if you want to go for a thicker mattress, you can find them in online stores or on the company’s website.
To set it up as a day bed, simply take out one of the side rails and lower the platform to a more suitable height. As a full-sized adult bed, you will have to purchase a bed frame from the company or any authorized retailer. Side rails function as headboards and footboards in the adult setting.
When it comes to pricing, this crib is incredibly low-priced compared to other brands. There’s some kind of toughness behind its elegance and beauty. It does have some shortcomings such as the mattress size, smaller dimensions, and materials used. But for the price you pay, you get more than your money’s worth. And besides, the company has a good record of being responsive to its customer’s needs.
